Teaching and learning foreign languages and the enviroment: scientific, cultural, socio-economic
The conference will be held on September 16-18, 2024 at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. The main topic of the meeting will be the issue of the relationship between research on teaching and learning foreign languages with the broadly understood environment, including scientific, cultural and socio-economic contexts. We invite you to participate in the conference, including presenting papers (speech time 20 minutes + 10 minutes discussion) and conducting workshops (45 minutes) in the following thematic sections:
- inter- and transdisciplinary connections of glottodidactics;
- broadly understood culture in glottodidactics;
- foreign language teaching and learning in educational policy and practice;
- glottodidactics in the academic space;
- modern technologies in teaching and learning foreign languages;
- teaching and learning specialized languages;
- language education from the perspective of the “Third Mission of the University”.
In addition to the papers in sections, on the third day of the conference there will be workshops for foreign language teachers, thematically related to the issues listed above. We invite you to participate in them, as well as to conduct them. Participation in the workshops is free of charge. The deadline for submitting applications with proposals for papers/workshops along with abstracts (150-200 words) is March 31, 2024 (fill out the Application form). Information about the acceptance of the topic of the paper/workshop will be provided to you by May 15, 2024. The conference fee for PTN members is PLN 540, while for other participants it is PLN 600. It includes conference materials, meals, organizational and publishing costs.
