Ladies and Gentlemen!
We cordially invite you to Gdańsk for a scientific conference devoted to translation, translation teaching and pedagogical translation. We want to engage in a broad discussion and learn about the results of your research, including: in the field of literary and professional translation, oral translation, as well as teaching translation and translation as one of the techniques supporting language learning.

We cordially invite you to participate in the International Scientific Conference
Language – Politics – Ideology
which will take place in Gdańsk on May 19-20, 2022.
As part of the conference, we invite you to reflect on the relationship between language and/or politics and/or ideology. We propose to focus the discussion on the following issues:
- communication strategies in ideological/political discourse;
- semiotics of ideological/political discourse;
- WE-THEM opposition in ideological/political discourse;
- tools for linguistic discrediting of the opponent;
- politeness and linguistic aggression in public communication;
- problems of historical memory and its expression in language;
- political/ideological discourse in the media;
- information wars in the media;
- fake news and political reality;
- language as a tool for influencing society – persuasion, manipulation, propaganda, argumentation;
- the boundaries between axiology and ideology in language;
- metaphor in ideological/political discourse.
Due to the breadth and interdisciplinary nature of the title issues, we also invite you to submit other specific issues.
